BFP stands for Big fat positive, a parenting forum abbreviation.
A clearly positive home pregnancy test, announced on trying-to-conceive forums with great excitement, often with a photo of the test.
Example: Got my BFP this morning after two years of trying, I'm shaking!
Usage notes
The "big fat" adds emphasis to a much-hoped-for result. Members often share faint lines and ask others to confirm them, a practice called "line eyes" when people imagine a line that isn't there. Its opposite is BFN.
