Bde stands for Brigade, a military unit and organization abbreviation.
Army and Marine formation of several battalions, typically 3,000 to 5,000 soldiers, commanded by a colonel or brigadier general. In today's US Army, the brigade combat team is the main deployable fighting unit.
Example: The 173rd Airborne Bde rehearsed a parachute assault into Latvia.
Usage notes
The word comes from Italian "brigata," a troop or company. British brigades are commanded by brigadiers. Specialized brigades include combat aviation, sustainment, field artillery and engineer brigades. Pronounced "bri-GADE." Brigades are numbered, and their nicknames and patches, such as the "Sky Soldiers" of the 173rd, become strong sources of identity.
