Usage notes
Formed in 1998 by the merger of Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation; the new company kept the letters UBS without the old expansion. In March 2023 Swiss authorities arranged UBS's purchase of the failing Credit Suisse for about 3 billion Swiss francs. Its logo of three keys comes from Swiss Bank Corporation.
