TTFN stands for Ta-ta for now, a texting and chat abbreviation.

Cheerful, slightly old-fashioned goodbye meaning "bye for now," used in texts, emails and online comments. Its British flavor and storybook associations make it sound playful rather than formal.

Example: That's all the gossip I have, ttfn and enjoy your trip!

Usage notes

Originated as a catchphrase in the BBC radio comedy "It's That Man Again" during the Second World War, and was later popularized by Tigger in Disney's Winnie the Pooh films. Often used playfully by adults; younger users may not recognize it.
