TSgt stands for Technical Sergeant, a US Air Force and Space Force rank abbreviation.
Pay grade E-6 in both the Air Force and Space Force, worn as five chevrons around a star. Technical sergeants lead sections and flights, manage training programs and serve as seasoned technical experts, frequently as the senior enlisted member in a work center.
Example: TSgt Nguyen briefed the maintenance flight on the new inspection schedule.
Usage notes
Spoken as "Tech Sergeant" or "Sergeant." The Space Force retained the title when it adopted its own rank names in 2021. In the Army the equivalent E-6 is staff sergeant (SSG), and in the Navy petty officer first class. Air Force writing never uses a period: TSgt, not T/Sgt or T.Sgt.
