Rez stands for Resurrect, a gaming slang abbreviation.

Bringing a fallen player back to life with a spell, item or revive mechanic, as in "can someone rez me?" Used as a verb and a noun in MMORPGs, team shooters and action RPGs.

Example: Can someone rez me? I died in the lava again.

Usage notes

Also spelled "res." A "battle rez" is a resurrection during combat, often limited to a few uses per fight in World of Warcraft raids. Some games distinguish quick revives by teammates from full resurrections at checkpoints. Healers and support classes usually carry rez abilities.
