OBBBA stands for One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a US law abbreviation.

Budget reconciliation law signed on July 4, 2025 that made the 2017 TCJA individual tax cuts permanent, added temporary deductions for tips and overtime pay, added work requirements to Medicaid, changed SNAP rules, increased border and defense spending and raised the debt limit by $5 trillion.

Example: Under the OBBBA, many tipped workers can deduct their tip income on federal returns.

Usage notes

Enacted as Public Law 119-21, it passed both chambers narrowly without Democratic votes; its popular name came from President Trump's description of the bill. It also ended many clean energy credits from the Inflation Reduction Act and raised the cap on the state and local tax deduction. The CBO projected it would add trillions to deficits over ten years.
