1. New American Bible

Catholic English translation completed in 1970 under the sponsorship of the US bishops, the first American Catholic Bible translated from the original languages rather than the Latin Vulgate. Versions of it are used in the readings at Mass in the United States.

Example: The lector read the first reading from the NAB lectionary.

The New Testament was revised in 1986 and the Psalms in 1991. The full revision of 2011 is known as the NABRE. Copyright is held by the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine.

Trade association representing US radio and television broadcasters, which lobbies on spectrum, ownership rules and copyright and organizes the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas.
