MVVM stands for Model-view-viewmodel, a programming abbreviation.
A UI architecture pattern in which a view model exposes data and commands that the view binds to automatically, keeping display logic separate from both the interface markup and the underlying model. It is common in WPF, .NET MAUI and Android apps.
Example: Our Android app follows MVVM, with the view model's state driving each screen.
Usage notes
Developed at Microsoft by Ken Cooper and Ted Peters and announced by John Gossman in 2005 for WPF. Data binding is the defining feature: when the view model changes, the view updates without manual code. Google's Android architecture guidance popularized ViewModel classes on mobile.
