LKA stands for Lane keeping assist, an automotive abbreviation.
Driver-assistance feature that gently steers a car back toward the center of its lane if it begins to drift without a turn signal, using a camera that reads lane markings. More advanced lane centering keeps the car in the middle of the lane continuously.
Example: LKA nudged the wheel when I drifted toward the shoulder on the empty highway.
Usage notes
Also written LKAS (lane keeping assist system). LKA builds on lane departure warning by adding steering input. Faded markings, snow and construction zones can confuse the camera. Combined with adaptive cruise control, it forms the basis of most Level 2 driver-assistance systems.
