LBR stands for Let's be real, a Gen Z slang abbreviation.

Introduces a blunt, honest observation that cuts through pretense, as in "lbr, nobody reads the terms and conditions." Writers use it to say what everyone is thinking but nobody has admitted.

Example: Lbr, we're not going to the gym after a three-hour brunch.

Usage notes

Similar to NGL (not gonna lie) and TBH (to be honest), though LBR appeals to shared truth rather than personal confession. Common among Gen Z and millennials on social media. Usually humorous and self-aware rather than harsh.
