Usage notes
Formed in 1991 by the merger of insurer Nationale-Nederlanden and the bank NMB Postbank Group. After a state rescue in 2008, it separated its insurance businesses, which became NN Group and Voya Financial. ING Direct in the US became Capital One 360 in 2012.
