EDNY stands for United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, a court abbreviation.
Brooklyn-based federal trial court for Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Long Island's Nassau and Suffolk counties, with a second courthouse in Central Islip. Written E.D.N.Y. in Bluebook citations. The district was carved out of the Southern District in 1865. Prosecutors here tried Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, who was convicted in 2019. Appeals from both New York City districts go to the Second Circuit in Lower Manhattan.
