arccos stands for Arccosine (inverse cosine), a math abbreviation.
Returns the angle whose cosine is a given value, with outputs from 0° to 180° (0 to π). It is used to find angles from side lengths and to compute the angle between two vectors.
Example: The angle between the vectors is arccos(0.6) ≈ 53.1°.
Usage notes
Written cos⁻¹ on calculators and acos in code. The angle between vectors u and v is the arccos of their dot product divided by the product of their lengths. Because its range starts at 0, arccos never returns a negative angle.
