SSOT stands for Single source of truth, a data & database abbreviation.
The practice of storing each piece of data or definition in one authoritative place that everything else references, so reports and systems never disagree about, for example, a customer's address or how revenue is calculated.
Example: The product catalog in the PIM is our SSOT; the website and marketplaces pull from it.
Usage notes
Closely related to the DRY principle in programming. Data teams pursue it through master data management, semantic layers and shared metric definitions across BI tools. In practice organizations often settle for a "single version of the truth" assembled from several systems.
