Example: Three-bedroom ranch, 1,850 sq ft, on a quarter-acre lot.

Usage notes

Also written ft², sqft, sf or SF. Multiply by 0.0929 to get square meters, or divide by roughly 10.76. Listed home sizes usually count finished, heated living space and exclude garages and unfinished basements. Roofers use a separate unit, the square, equal to 100 sq ft.
