PSEO stands for Postsecondary Enrollment Options, a K-12 education abbreviation.
Minnesota's dual enrollment program, created in 1985, that lets high school juniors and seniors take college courses tuition-free for both high school and college credit. Ohio used the same name until replacing it with College Credit Plus in 2015.
Example: He took PSEO classes at the University of Minnesota during his senior year.
Usage notes
Minnesota's law was among the first statewide dual enrollment programs in the country. Students attend classes on college campuses or online, and the state pays the colleges. Some high schools worry that PSEO draws strong students away from their own advanced courses.
