NRR stands for Net run rate, an other sports abbreviation.
Tiebreaker used in cricket tournaments: a team's run rate scored minus the run rate conceded across all matches. Teams level on points are separated by NRR.
Example: A big win lifted their NRR above Pakistan's, sending them into the semifinals.
Usage notes
Teams bowled out before their full overs are treated as having used all their overs in the calculation. NRR often makes the final group games tactically complex, as teams chase targets within set overs.
