1. Luxury vinyl plank

Waterproof flooring made of layered vinyl with a printed wood-look surface, widely used in rentals, renovations and new construction because it is cheaper and more water-resistant than hardwood.
Example: New LVP flooring throughout the main level, perfect for pets.
LVP has largely replaced carpet and laminate in many renovations. Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) is the stone- or tile-look version.
2. Large-volume parenteral

Sterile injectable solution in a container of more than 100 mL, such as 500 mL and 1,000 mL bags of saline, dextrose and lactated Ringer's. LVPs are the backbone of hospital IV therapy and are often in short supply.
Example: Hurricane damage to the plant caused a nationwide LVP shortage of 1-liter saline bags.
The USP distinguishes LVPs from small-volume parenterals of 100 mL or less. In 2017 Hurricane Maria damaged Puerto Rican factories supplying IV bags, and in 2024 flooding at a North Carolina plant caused another major IV fluid shortage, prompting conservation measures nationwide.
