IKR stands for I know, right?, a texting and chat abbreviation.

Enthusiastic agreement with what someone just said, as in "that test was brutal" / "ikr!" It conveys shared feeling and is not really a question, despite the full form.

Example: Ikr, the ending was so much better than the book!

Usage notes

Popular since the 2000s, especially among teens and young women. Often stretched for emphasis ("ikrrr") or paired with a crying-laughing emoji. Friendly and fine in casual chat, though too informal for professional messages.
