Organization, founded in 1999 and affiliated with the SANS Institute, that offers dozens of technical cybersecurity certifications in areas such as incident handling, forensics, penetration testing and cloud security.

Usage notes
GIAC exams are open-book, and candidates often take them after SANS training courses. Certifications are renewed every four years. Holders can pursue the advanced GIAC Security Expert (GSE).
