FAQ stands for Frequently asked questions, an everyday abbreviation.
A list of common questions and their answers about a product, service, website, policy or topic, written to save users and support staff time. Nearly every company website, help center and online community has one.
Example: Before contacting support, check the FAQ page for answers about shipping times and returns.
Usage notes
The format grew up on 1980s mailing lists and Usenet newsgroups, where regulars compiled answers to the questions newcomers kept asking; NASA's Eugene Miya is credited with an early series of FAQ postings for space discussion groups. It is pronounced as letters ("F-A-Q") or as the word "fak." "An FAQ" can mean the whole list or a single question. Good FAQs are written from the reader's point of view.
